Let’s Get Glam—A Peek Into My Journey!

Hello, gorgeous! I’m Hannah, the founder of Beauty by Mae and a freelance makeup artist specializing in bridal makeup, based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. My journey in the beauty industry started in 2016 at a bareMinerals boutique, where I worked for 3.5 years. In 2022, I teamed up with a former coworker and close friend to venture into the wedding industry as a freelance makeup artist. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of working around 20 weddings each year across the Twin Cities and surrounding areas.

Outside of Beauty by Mae, I work full-time as a Sourcing Manager at Target Corporation. I’m passionate about traveling—Barcelona, Spain, is my favorite destination—and I’m a proud dog mom to my Golden Retriever, Finn (who occasionally models on the side). I’ve also been happily dating my boyfriend, Tommy, for three wonderful years.

At Beauty by Mae, my philosophy is simple: enhance your natural beauty. I specialize in soft, natural glam looks designed to help you feel radiant, confident, and completely comfortable in your own skin. It would be an honor to be apart of your special day!

  • You can anticipate about 45 min as a bride and 35 min for all other bridal party members.

  • I do not offer airbrush makeup. I use traditional, long wear liquid foundation. I am confident in the longevity in the products I use in my professional kit and will guarantee that they will last throughout your entire day.

  • Yes, I require a minimum of four makeup services for weddings more than one hour outside of Minneapolis. If you are getting married within the Twin Cities and have fewer than my minimum, please email me with the number of people needing services, and we can discuss options!

  • When crafting my professional kit, I always keep two things in mind: quality and longevity. I understand the importance of having your makeup last throughout the entire day. I carefully select products for my kit based on performance to help you achieve your desired look. As a result, I use both prestige and drugstore options. Some of my favorite brands in my kit include Patrick Ta, Makeup by Mario, Charlotte Tilbury, MAC Cosmetics, L'Oréal, Rare Beauty, and E.L.F Cosmetics.
